“We are ready to register the BSP for the mayoral elections. However, the temporary official leadership is silent, and the deadlines are running. We are concerned that this puts the participation of our candidates at risk ”.
This was stated by the resigned BSP leader Kornelia Ninova.
In the last local elections in October 2023, the BSP increased its result by increasing both the number of mayors won, as well as its party vote and presence in the Municipal Councils.
On 20.10.2024 there are partial local elections for mayor scheduled by the president. The deadline for submitting documents to the CEC expires on September 4. Therefore, the resigned leader of the BSP and her authorized representatives Ivan Chenchev and Georgi Svilenski are writing a letter to the National Council of the BSP:
“We state that we are ready to sign and file all documents on behalf of the BSP, if they are provided to us. So far they haven't. The responsibility for not appearing in these elections will be on the temporary leadership of the party. For the registration, a court certificate is required for the current state of the PP “Thrace“ and PP “Ekoglasnost”, the previous coalition partners with whom the BSP ran in the last local elections.
