DPS was out of power for a very long time. Then it turned out that DPS cadres were passing through the governments (of GERB). Back then, governments were very strong and could be countered. When I was chief of staff of the first "Borisov" cabinet this collaboration was not obvious.
This is what Rumyana Bachvarova said in the show "This morning" on bTV.
I see a desire on the part of GERB to distance itself from DPS. This crisis can drag other parties too. I don't think GERB can take sides. But there should still be a principled position - how the institutions should work, how the elections should be held, she added.
She also commented on the letter from Tsvetan Vassilev submitted to the parliament's registry, according to which there are data on racketeering by Delyan Peevski against representatives of KTB.
"If there is a witness and documents for an investigation - it will look quite serious. Why they haven't appeared until now is another matter. They are saved for moments like this. There are many cases in which the prosecutor's office is not trusted", commented Bachvarova.
In her words, the possible vote on the immunity of Delyan Peevski is an occasion to see how the crisis in the DPS divides the entire parliament.
