The accounts of "Capital transport" EAD has been blocked since September 25, 2024. If this company stops working, public transport in the capital will also stop. "Metropolitan motor transport" EAD has accumulated liabilities over the years in the amount of BGN 20 million
This was stated by the mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev, quoted by BTA.
He pointed out that the finance mayor, Ivan Vassilev, should look for a solution on how to save this company.
Terziev assured that he will not sweep the subject of municipal companies under the carpet. He added that he will continue to ask important questions such as what is the program of the people who manage the municipal companies and when they will organize competitions for permanent members of the management boards.
Municipal councilor from PP-DB-Spasi Sofia Boris Bonev stated that the incident that caused the freezing of the accounts of the Capital Motor Vehicle is not new. According to him, it dates back to 2020, when a report was filed with the State Financial Inspection Agency (ADFI) about the outrageously expensive renovation of the dormitory for city transport employees in "Druzhba".
According to him, in the last four years, neither SOS nor the management of "Capital Motor Transport" they did not lift a finger to prevent the situation in which the company's accounts have already been frozen through a private bailiff.
Bonev emphasized that this bomb was planted by the old leadership of the Metropolitan Municipality in the person of GERB.
We remind you that only a month ago, the municipal councilor Vanya Grigorova warned that the mayor Vasil Terziev and his deputy for finance Ivan Vasilev were deliberately leading the municipal transport companies to bankruptcy.
"Due to a lack of basic spare parts, such as a DPF filter, for example, which is replaced every 280,000 km, relatively new, low-floor, air-conditioned, Euro 06 buses stand on the parking lot, and on the streets of Sofia they move rotten, almost broken down , heavily depreciated vehicles, she commented. -
And against this background, one month after the vote in the SOS, Mayor Terziev has still not transferred BGN 5 million to the "Metropolitan Transport" EAD.
And they are insufficient, but at least they are voted. We can't help but ask ourselves: Are municipal companies deliberately leading to bankruptcy?".
Vanya Grigorova added that "Capital motor transport" At the end of May this year, EAD had BGN 15.6 million in arrears, and the total liabilities were BGN 19.5 million. Of these, BGN 3.5 million were only overdue liabilities for spare parts.
"13 buses waiting for gearboxes, not running. In total, there are 126 buses with the same mileage in the three garages, i.e. it will not be unexpected that all of them will soon run out of gears, explained Vanya Grigorova. - Some of the buses need new exhaust manifolds. The first ones start to crack 3-4 years ago.
All these spare parts can be planned because manufacturers know when they wear out. But there is no money, so relatively new buses sit in garages waiting for someone to think that they are not bad property of the municipality to be maintained. And this must be done on time, because some of these repairs take two weeks per bus.
Vanya Grigorova added that even if these BGN 5 million were transferred immediately, it would take a long time to prepare the buses for traffic.
"Why didn't Mayor Terziev and his deputy for finance Vasilev transfer the voted BGN 5 million loan for a whole month? To bleed the municipal company even more? To leave those workers who still work there, she asked rhetorically.
- The money is there because the capital program is not being implemented. Nothing that they are elite managers, Vanya Grigorova summarized.
