Tihomir Bezlov explained whether the problem with the dead souls in the election lists will be solved soon

"The problem is that they are in different databases and archives. In Bulgaria, the lists are not made by the electoral administration, you know, they collect data from GRAO, etc. How many people have valid documents and are over 18 is one thing, but how many have declared that they live in Bulgaria is another. And it is quite normal to have discrepancies, emphasized Stoil Tsitselkov

Tihomir Bezlov explained whether the problem with the dead souls in the election lists will be solved soon - 1

The preparation for the vote is on time, announced the Minister of Innovation and Growth Rosen Karadimov, who is responsible for the organization of the elections. But again, there are more eligible voters than the population of the country. How can the problem of “dead souls” be solved? in the voting lists, security expert Tihomir Bezlov and Stoil Tsitselkov, who is a member of the Public Council of the Central Election Commission, commented on NovaNews.
„Several times politicians made efforts to solve this problem. But it is undecidable because you have a list of people who are not in Bulgaria and we have no data that they died or lost the opportunity to vote, but they are sitting on the list, Bezlov said.
„The problem is that they are in different databases and archives. In Bulgaria, the lists are not made by the electoral administration, you know, they collect data from GRAO, etc. How many people have valid documents and are over 18 is one thing, but how many have declared that they live in Bulgaria is another. And it is quite normal to have differences,“, emphasized Tsitselkov.

According to him, the solution to the case would be to introduce a register of Bulgarians abroad. “When we do our job as a country and take care of our fellow citizens, even when they are outside the country. This is a responsible policy, especially since we want to return them”, Tsitselkov added.
„The bigger problem is that we see people who don't want to vote because they simply don't live in the town or village. Someone just knows this fact, releases, writes for him. At this stage after the sixth election, this is not even a topic“, said Bezlov.

„There are many Bulgarians who seasonally work in other countries and we know that where there are no observers, it happens that their relatives vote for them. That's why I say in our Electoral Code it is written that we must have a vote abroad“, emphasized Tsitselkov
