The Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, announced that the accounts of “Stolichnyi autotransport” are locked up. “Sector “Transport” is one of the first with which Mr. Vasil Terziev, as mayor of Sofia, began to deal. An agreement was signed with the unions to increase the salaries of public transport employees. We presented an investment program for over BGN 1 billion for the purchase of new vehicles. We are working actively, but we should not forget that this sector has been left to its own devices for more than ten years, Vassilev said.
In his words, at the moment “The metropolitan transport” there are more than BGN 20 million in liabilities, and about BGN 8 million are those of electric transport. “It is a hole that is constantly growing,”, he also said.
„From the budget of the Metropolitan Municipality, we plan to propose to the municipal councilors BGN 5 million to cover the obligations of the “Metropolitan Transport” and BGN 1 million for “Metropolitan electric transport”, the deputy mayor pointed out.
