At 11:00 a.m. today, the process of certifying the compliance of the machines for the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections on October 27 started. The technical devices were received at the Ministry of Electronic Governance (MEG) yesterday, on 30/09/2024 (Monday), after the end of the working day by the Central Election Commission, the press center of the ministry reports.
The first step in the work of the MEU teams is to check the assets provided by the CEC for the purposes of authentication. The certification of the election machines takes place under the supervision of experts from the State Agency “National Security”.
The Ministry of e-Government invites the registered parties, non-governmental organizations and others, according to Art. 213a, para. 3 of the Electoral Code to participate in the process.
Authentication of the technical voting devices will take place in a secure environment, in the building at the MEU, where a new camera has been installed that will broadcast a picture and sound in real time. In the hall “Parter“ it will be possible to monitor the entire authentication process, and every citizen will have free access to it during working hours during the week.
