There are no compromised sections of the engineering facility of an obstructing type in Bulgarian - the Turkish state border, and even if there are, they are removed literally in a few hours. Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said this yesterday, who personally checked the condition of the barrier facility. Together with him were the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov, the Minister of Internal Affairs Atanas Ilkov, the Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov and the director of the “Border Police” chief commissioner Anton Zlatanov. With a helicopter, they made an aerial inspection of the fence, then went around the border near Lesovo, where they saw the advantages of the working integrated video surveillance system. This was announced by the press center of the Council of Ministers.
The acting Prime Minister emphasized that the need to strengthen our national security along the borders is obvious in view of the expected risks. Dimitar Glavchev also pointed out that the draft budget for next year will be presented to the deputies and their attention will be drawn to the need for additional expenses regarding border security.
Military Minister Zapryanov assured that the army will continue to help with security as long as necessary.
