Borislav Sarafov after the nomination: At the moment I have the necessary solutions to each of the current problems

"After almost a year and a half as acting chief prosecutor, today I received the nomination of three of the members of the Prosecution College of the High Judicial Council in the procedure for the selection of the incumbent for the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Bulgaria. I accept this act mostly as an assessment of the fact that, in one of the most difficult moments for the prosecutor's office, thanks not so much to me, but to the colleagues with whom I work on a daily basis, we managed to return the institution to normality and professionalism together". This is what Borislav Sarafov, nominated for chief prosecutor, told NOVA.
"Aware of the high responsibility of the nomination, I express my readiness to propose to the Supreme Judicial Council my vision for the strategic development of the prosecutor's office, based on nearly 30 years of professional experience, during which, including at the highest level, I have become directly acquainted with all the problems of the system. I can state that I currently have the necessary solutions to each of the current problems. Of course, in solving them, I will continue to rely on my colleagues, with whom I believe we can reform the prosecutor's office and investigative services, turning them into defenders of the interests and rights of Bulgarian citizens," he emphasized.
And he added: "From now on, I can declare that if I am elected as the chief prosecutor of the Republic of Bulgaria, I will work daily and purposefully to restore the sense of justice in society, to enforce the principle of the rule of law, the political neutrality of the institution and protection of the independence of the judiciary. And from now on, in my work, I will support every single Bulgarian prosecutor and investigator who fulfills his professional duties conscientiously and responsibly, showing understanding and empathy for every life case. I perfectly understand the extremely difficult task of the prosecutor's office getting the public trust it deserves and I am ready to work for it.
