V the program of the GERB-SDS, we have a clear commitment to judicial reform, election of members of the Anti-Corruption Commission and filling of quotas in the various bodies, including the regulators. This is what GERB-SDS deputy candidate Georgi Georgiev said in “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA NEWS.
He said there was no need to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court on the nomination of the Prosecutor General.
„Don't expect a candidate in the primary race to comment on an arrest of another candidate in the race. In law, we have a presumption of innocence. Immunity does not enable us to commit crimes. Waiver of immunity is an opportunity to establish an investigation to see if the person has committed a crime or not. And not pronouncing whether he is guilty or not", said Georgiev.
He pointed out that the anti-corruption law, which has been in effect for a year, was prepared by GERB.
„The feeling of impunity in society shows the need for judicial reform and better rules for the prevention of corruption,”, believes Georgiev.
He also said that “the price of paint for road markings has increased twice according to the new contracts signed by Vasil Terziev”. “This is an indication of possible violations,” added the candidate for deputy. “That is why we foresee in the program anti-corruption units in the various institutions and prevention”, the politician also explained.
Georgiev also said that part of the GERB-SDS program also includes the implementation of measures to prevent road transport accidents.
