The case against former policewoman Simona Radeva begins. She is accused of hiding Georgi Semerdzhiev, who in July 2022 caused a serious accident on the boulevard “Cherni vrah“ in Sofia. Two young women died in the accident.
This reminds me of "New TV".
According to the prosecutor's office, Radeva was fully aware that Semerdzhiev was involved in the accident. The investigation found that she assisted in his escape, leading to the charge of personal concealment.
The trial is expected to continue with the review of evidence and testimony.
According to the prosecutor's office, sufficient evidence has been collected for the authorship and guilt of the accused.
At the time of the accident, Radeva was a junior inspector in the First District Office in Sofia.
If found guilty, she could face up to 8 years in prison.
As early as 2022, it became clear that at least 40 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had allowed Semerdzhiev to break the law.
Simona Radeva was disciplinary dismissed, and last year the Administrative Court in Sofia rejected her appeal to return to the system.
She is currently free on bond.
