The State Financial Inspection Agency found misuse of money of a state company, which was spent on jewelry and perfumes, reported BNT. It is about the National Company of Industrial Zones, which is under the Ministry of Economy.
The financial inspection shows that in the period June 2019 – July 2023, members of the board of directors spent funds on personal, luxury purchases and reported them as executive expenses. It is about illegally spending nearly BGN 127,000. Most of the money was returned during the inspection. During this period, 17 people worked on the board of directors. Violations were found in almost all of them, with the most serious ones found in the case of executive director Antoaneta Ivanova – Bares.
The former executive director sent a statement to BNT, which states that all reports have been accepted and approved by the principal of the company - the Ministry of Economy. Antoineta Ivanova – Bares states that over 900 million BGN investments have been attracted during the years of her management and adds that in order to avoid speculation about her name and damage to the company's prestige, she transferred back the amount that was spent on representative expenses already in the summer.< /p>
And the current Board of Directors of the National Company of Industrial Zones commented on BNT that they do not have and do not foresee representative expenses.

"In connection with published publications that wrongly implicate my name in law violations, I categorically state that every lev is spent according to established internal rules and the laws of the country. The company has prepared all financial statements and they have been certified by an auditor. All reports have been accepted and approved by the principal of the company. The same has been checked by the National Revenue Agency and various audit bodies. All management actions are promptly reported to the principal.
As a lawyer, I have always followed the letter of the law, and as a manager, the development and prosperity of the company I led and the attraction of investors in its divisions was important. Together with the NKIZ team, we worked on the drafting of the Law on Industrial Parks and its adoption. In the years of my management, the company has positioned itself as a key factor in attracting foreign and Bulgarian investors. Investments of over BGN 900 million have been attracted, and the company has made a serious profit every year, with only the last year of my management, 2022, amounting to over BGN 11 million. So that there is no speculation with my name, as well as damage to prestige to the company for which I have worked for more than a decade, already in the summer I have duly transferred back to the company the amount that was spent on representative expenses.
Reimbursement of sums for incurred representative expenses is also requested from all other members of the Board of Directors in the period 2019 – 2023. Among them are: Mrs. Dobrinka Vicheva – chief of staff of Minister Bogdan Bogdanov, Mrs. Andreana Premyanova – Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Konstantin Palaveev – executive director and board member and others. It is of interest why there are no findings in the report that a penalty was not collected for delaying the implementation of an important infrastructure project, the delay of which was noted already last summer, with a report from the construction supervision. The unclaimed penalty damages the company with thousands of BGN."
