MEP Elena Yoncheva comments on migration and Schengen in front of NOVINI.BG.
The EP has been working on the migration pact for over 8 years, and a consensus was reached only at the end of the last mandate.
In her words, however, very difficult processes are ahead and they will have an impact on Bulgaria's security.
"Now MEPs have to deal with human trafficking. Bulgaria should be helped to reduce the traffic of illegal migrants. This is a big topic," said Yoncheva.
According to her, if the tools are found to reduce human trafficking, there will be success.
It is a category that we must work effectively with the third countries.
Regarding the fact that Bulgaria is on the threshold of another early parliamentary election, Elena Yoncheva stated that the topics being worked on in the EP are important for our country.
As to whether Bulgaria will soon become a full member of Schengen, Yoncheva assured that this will happen by the end of the year.
