15,218 employees of the Ministry of the Interior in the country are engaged in the security of the sections, ensuring public order, fire safety and the smooth running of the election day.
Additionally, 453 employees from the General Directorate of Security and Safety are involved in the protection of public order on the territory of the SDVR and the regional directorates. We remind you that armed persons and those carrying objects dangerous to the life and health of citizens are not allowed in the election premises. The use of mobile phones, cameras or other recording equipment for the purpose of recording the voting process is prohibited.
In order to guarantee the right of every citizen to exercise his right to vote, today the employees in the units of the Directorate of “Bulgarian Identity Documents” will work from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will issue the necessary certificates in cases of lost, stolen, damaged, destroyed or expired ID cards.
The work of the National Interdepartmental Unit continues, which coordinates the activities of the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of the Interior and the State Security Service to ensure a quick and adequate response to combat crimes related to the electoral process and the lawful conduct of the elections. An exchange is taking place with the CEC and regional units in the country, and a summary and analysis of the received data will be carried out, the Ministry of the Interior reports.
