The road section is closed due to a protest by citizens demanding a fair investigation into the death of a 24-year-old man from Popovo and demanding the resignation of police officers.
RU teams – Popovo regulates the movement. Travelers stop by detours in advance. Travelers from Veliko Tarnovo stop via Targovishte for Popovo. Drivers from Razgrad also have to pass through Targovishte in the direction of Popovo.
At the moment, the protest is going peacefully, without tension, the regional administration said.
The protesters defend their demands with a series of protests, BTA recalls. Yesterday, citizens of Popovo and the country protested for the second time in front of the Regional Administration in Popovo. Earlier in the month, there were protest actions in Targovishte and Sofia.
