GERB -SDS will not withdraw Raya Nazaryan's candidacy for the Speaker of the National Assembly, he said in “This Morning” on bTV MP Denitsa Sacheva.
„This is not about political stubbornness, but about the will of the people and whether the people's representatives who are elected to the parliament actually respect the will of the people,” said Sacheva.
"The election of the Speaker of the National Assembly is tied to whether we want to go to elections or whether we want a regular government. We have said very clearly that we want to have a regular cabinet and that the election of the President of the National Assembly should be a sign that there is a majority for a government. After this election is carried out, we can sit down at the negotiating table”, commented the deputy from GERB-SDS.
„We are working to have a government. If someone is working to have elections, it is not us and we will not support decisions that push Bulgaria back into nothingness," Denitsa Sacheva also said.
„If Silvi Kirilov is elected Speaker of the National Assembly, does that mean that there will be a governing majority?", she asked.
"We said that we will conduct negotiations only and only if they refer to a government. "For us, the election of the chairman is not a technical issue," commented the deputy from GERB-SDS.
„I am afraid that with the calls for a sanitary cordon, in the end, we will bring things to the point where, in practice, the sanitary workers will come to remove the corpse of parliamentary democracy”, thinks Denitsa Sacheva.
She stated that the PP-DB must decide whether they want to be statesmen or want to disappear from Bulgarian politics.
In her words, all the talk that goes beyond politics is marketing initiatives and smokescreens to cover up the answer to the real question – government or elections.
