Over 35% of Bulgarian citizens support the full cashing of the elections from October 27.
This is indicated by the results of a national survey financed and implemented jointly by bTV and “Market LINKS”.
The study was conducted among 1017 people over 18 years old. in the country in the period November 12-19, 2024. by the methods of direct personal interview and online survey.
„This is a serious problem for Bulgarian society. Over 35% are ready to give up the vote because he was not honest enough, commented Dobromir Zhivkov, manager of Market LINKS.
Regarding the evaluation of the fairness of the elections, 26% of the respondents stated that they were “extremely unfair”, and 32% - “rather unfair”. Only 5% believe in the honesty of their conduct.
The level of confidence in the vote has never been so low, this is a precedent, Zhivkov specified.
The survey by the sociological agency shows that trust in both the official cabinet and the National Assembly is rising slightly, but is lower than distrust.
„This is the result of the so-called restart that society receives after every election and is always characterized by a slightly increased credit of trust in the main institutions of the country”, explained the sociologist.
Over 30% of Bulgarians have decided who they will vote for in the last week before the vote. This confirms the hypothesis of alienation of citizens from political life, Dobromir Zhivkov believes.
The results of the agency's survey indicate that 15% of eligible voters made a decision about whom they will support 3 to 7 days before the election, and 16% - the last 1-2 days. 69% decided 1 to 3 weeks before the vote.
The research also shows not particularly high trust in the institutions, responses to the conduct of the elections.
12% of Bulgarians give a positive assessment of the work of the Ministry of Interior, 9% and 8% – respectively to the CEC and RIC and SIC, 8% - to the government.
From “Market LINKS“ have also investigated the support for the protest against the premiere of the play "Guns and the Man" at the National Theater.
„We researched the opinion on this issue as well, because in our opinion it was a serious public focus on both the political processes and the cultural processes that are developing in the country”, Zhivkov explained.
The data is from a national survey, financed and implemented jointly by bTV and “Market LINKS“, conducted among 1017 persons over 18 years of age. in the country in the period 12 - 19 November 2024. by the methods of direct personal interview and online survey.
