The Acting Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov is convening a national meeting of the administrative heads of prosecutor's offices in the country and the Ministry of the Interior today on the topic "Activating the work of the Prosecutor's Office to ensure zero tolerance in countering cases related to exercised violence”. This was announced by the press center of the prosecutor's office, quoted by BTA.
The purpose of the meeting is to ensure a timely legal response in accordance with the standards of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the practice of the European Court in Strasbourg, as well as in compliance with the order of Borislav Sarafov dated November 27. Mr. in connection with the escalation of cases of violence in recent months.
At the national meeting, the necessary effective organizational and other measures will be discussed to achieve real results in combating crimes, which requires a high degree of coordination and interaction between the prosecutor's office and the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, especially with the General Directorate of the National Police. A few days ago i.f. chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov ordered the heads of regional and district prosecutor's offices in the country to demand immediate action from the local Ministry of Internal Affairs authorities in connection with the frequent cases of violence committed on hooligan or discriminatory grounds in public places, when driving a motor vehicle, as well as domestic violence.
