The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office announced that despite the deepening political crisis, they will not allow timelessness and powerlessness.
At a working meeting, heads of structures in the State Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are discussing measures to counter the frequent cases of hooliganism in public places and domestic violence. It is headed by acting chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov and acting interior minister Atanas Ilkov.
This is what Sarafov said at its opening:
"Despite the severe political crisis, which is escalating and visibly deepening, we, the representatives of the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will not allow chaos and anarchy, as well as escalation of tension. We are categorical that we will not allow the political crisis to be transferred to the judiciary and grow into an institutional one. Society justifiably has expectations of us, and we, despite the difficult times and challenges that are set before us, will not spare our efforts to justify these expectations - for security, for order, for justice.
Among the measures announced by Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov during the part of the meeting open to the media was an increased police presence at Christmas bazaars and shopping centers, where a massive gathering of people is expected during the festive December.
