"No one has the right to criticize the state budget for next year, because this budget is the product of collective irresponsibility for 4 years, skillfully led by Assen Vassilev. And the opposition parties also have no right to criticize it, because they voted populist for an increase in pensions and salaries. We are guilty, as the largest party, for supporting wrong policies. We will not escape this". This was said by GERB leader Boyko Borisov at a party meeting in Plovdiv.
He added that the budget is "the political expression of the majority's policies".
"We are not to blame for the chaos during these 4 years. Is this a GERB budget - no, but what is the caretaker government to blame for? What is Ms. Petkova's fault that you political parties, who say there should be a 3% deficit, and our governments did so that there was a surplus, during the Covid crisis", the GERB leader also asked.
"I hope the parties will stop in a pre-election situation. I hope the prosecutor's office will also stop working pre-election. If Lena Borislavova is asked for immunity, I want the PP to know that they will have 69 votes "against". If this is done, my indignation will be such that I will sit down to look at the declaration. This is not done. We have experienced it ourselves. This girl has experienced it. GERB will not allow it", Borisov also said.
„We read one thing about Kiril Petkov – we were indignant. About Asen Vassilev – customs, testimony – It's different. For Lena Borislavova it's unacceptable. It's good that she's not the Prosecutor General. GERB's attitude will be like this, I want it to be clear“, the GERB leader pointed out.
According to him, the president will wait with the first term in office to have a chance to form a regular government.
