Kiril Petkov: The dirty machine is starting to show its weakness - 1

The dirty machine, which we have titled the “Peevski model“, but is a collective term for everything that happens behind the scenes and where corruption reigns, is starting to show its weakness, said the co-chair of “Continuing the Change“ (PP) Kiril Petkov during the organized first general meeting of mayors and municipal councilors from across the country, elected with the PP list.

In his words, with the refusal to sign the PP's proposed declaration for a “sanitary cordon”, the dependencies have “lit up”.

The power of a small group is in the fear of the people, the more we are not afraid, their power begins to fall, Petkov commented. "If we work as a team, the mafia will see that on the other side there is an equally organized group of people who will oppose them," he added.

The other co-chair of the party, Assen Vassilev, commented that in a country where there is no justice, there is no way people would want to live. According to him, in order for this not to happen, institutions should not be used as "clubs" and funds should be distributed correctly in the state.

"The 2020 protests broke out precisely because of the lack of justice," Vassilev pointed out. According to him, the proposed state budget shows a return to the “absolutely careless management of state policy in the field of incomes”.

We have a very serious battle ahead of us, now it is entering its decisive phase, said Assen Vassilev, adding that the last three years have shown that we can live and work in a different way, which greatly hinders Peevski and the machine he currently manages.

The Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev also took the floor and stated that despite the challenges, many successes can be achieved, even when you do not have a majority in the Municipal Council and every day you are at war with the state and institutions. One of the biggest lessons for me is how much stronger we are when we are together. There is no plan B, and plan A is to work together to build functioning institutions, Terziev also said.

Be free patriots and be calm - everything is fine, what we do will remain in history, we pay and will pay a price, but it is worth it, said the mayor of Blagoevgrad Metodi Baykushev during the meeting.

We cannot be scared by the reforms for which people have voted trust in us, we will bring them to a successful end, no matter what personal price we and our families will have to pay for this, said the mayor of Pazardzhik Petar Kulinski.
