Eight people were injured and one is in critical condition after a double-decker bus crashed into a railway bridge on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
Footage posted online shows a bus belonging to the "FirstGroup" company (FirstGroup) was trapped under the Cook Street Bridge, with part of its roof torn off and glass shattered on the ground.
Emergency services were immediately called to the scene after Police Scotland were alerted to the crash at around 6pm local time (8pm BST) on Saturday.
"Emergency crews attended (the scene of the accident – ed.) and five people were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, a Police Scotland spokesman said.
One of the passengers was in a critical condition, he said. Three others were treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
The cause of the crash is being investigated. However, one of the witnesses to the incident suggests that the bus driver took a wrong turn and then hit the bridge.
