"If there is no regular government, no budget should be adopted. Neither this one nor any other. Because if they adopt a budget, it will be "wedding". This opinion was expressed to Nova TV by former Minister of Economy Nikolay Vassilev, commenting on the draft financial framework for next year.
He recalled that in the last few years "we have only had a regular budget once". "The state did not stop. Nothing will happen if the budget is adopted a little later. I believe that in the face of potential new elections, a fragmented parliament without a majority - no budget should be voted on. If a regular government is formed, which I strongly hope for, at the beginning of next year, I propose that it discard this budget, preferably publicly, and draw up an entirely new and different financial framework," he said.
In his words, "the damage that the currently proposed budget can do is much greater than anything else that a future regular cabinet that will bear responsibility will do."
Vassilev emphasized that "a former finance minister is to blame for the avalanche that he himself started and we are currently at the end of the catastrophe." "In addition, all political parties that passed through the National Assembly, with collective irresponsibility, supported all proposals for updates - only to intensify the avalanche. Even Assen Vassilev, who started the avalanche, joined the camp of reasonable people who do not support this budget. Even the finance minister does not support this financial framework," he emphasized.
