Vezhdi Rashidov: Borisov is afraid to sign the declaration on the cordon around Peevski - 1

In politics, insults are overcome in the name of greater goals. Personal insults bring bad dividends for everyone. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV by the former Minister of Culture and former Speaker of the National Assembly Vezhdi Rashidov in connection with the attempts to form a regular government.

They measure the size of their eyes in some way. It is not worthy. The last and penultimate parliaments were something terrible – a unique parade of meaninglessness. What is there to understand? There is one thing – to understand how to get Bulgaria back on its feet, how to get out of the crisis, said Rashidov.

In his words, the refusal of GERB leader Boyko Borisov to sign the declaration requested by "We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria" for a cordon sanitaire around the leader of "DPS – New beginning" Delyan Peevski can be explained by fear.

The leader, if he is afraid, clearly has a reason for it. I assume that is so, because otherwise I see no reason not to sign the declaration, the former speaker of parliament pointed out.

Peevski is putting on some kind of spectacle. He excites everyone's passions and is the number one actor in politics at the moment. He was legally elected, he was not a leper - what law prohibits Peevski from not having rights, noted Vezhdi Rashidov.

Regarding the prosecutor's request for parliamentary immunity for the co-chair of "We Continue the Change" Kiril Petkov due to the arrest of Boyko Borisov, Sevdalina Arnaudova and Vladislav Goranov in 2022, Rashidov said: "This is a rather serious humiliation. I agree with Borisov's words. I was at his door and waited for him to get out of custody. Borisov lives with a pain and will not get over it. This is a huge humiliation for a former prime minister, in front of his children. Kiril Petkov is very infantile and incompetent. I advise them to stop this quarrel through power - it will degrade our entire people. These are the people who stand in front and set a bad example".
