The extension law on the state budget is also on the agenda of the deputies. The deputies began the first reading of the so-called special law on revenues and expenditures, which was submitted by the caretaker government at the end of last year.
This law practically extends the validity of last year's budget, because the parliament and the state started the new year without an adopted budget plan.
This law guarantees payments - namely pensions and social benefits and salaries in the public sector.
It will be in effect until the state has an officially adopted budget plan.
It is explicitly stated that it will not be in effect for more than three months, that is, if there is no regular government and if the deputies do not adopt a budget in March - they will have to meet again and consider such an extension law.
