In order to carry out snow removal due to the heavy snowfall in the mountains, the movement of bus 66 will be temporarily suspended in the section from the junction for Dragalevski Monastery to the “Moreni“ hotel. Until 2:00 p.m., no cars are allowed in the mountains, with the exception of specialized cars and buses of public transport and ski schools. After that, only cars with chains will be allowed. This was announced by the press center of the Sofia Municipality in connection with the winter situation at 11:30 a.m. today.

The cleaning of the approaches to underpasses and metro stations, as well as sidewalks, continues. Drivers should only set off with vehicles equipped for winter conditions and drive carefully and at a reasonable speed.

Snow removal work continues on the territory of the 24 metropolitan districts. Treatments with anti-icing mixtures and snow pushing on streets and boulevards are being carried out. Currently, 170 snow removal machines are on site. Treatments are being carried out on the routes of public transport, main streets in the districts, work is being carried out on the municipal road network, the Southern Arc of the Ring Road.

Public transport is currently operating everywhere in winter conditions. In the Vitosha Nature Park, two roads are being sanded: the “Dragalevtsi“ quarter – the “Aleko“ and the “Boyana“ quarter – Zlatnite Mostove area.

In the mountains it will be cloudy, windy and with snowfall, significant in the massifs of Western Bulgaria and the Rila-Rhodope region. Moderate wind will blow, and in the higher parts - strong wind from the west-northwest, indicates the weather forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. New snow cover will form and in combination with the wind there will be conditions for the formation of drifts and drifts. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around minus 2°, at 2000 meters - around minus 5°.
