“Democratic Bulgaria” follows its previously stated conditions. GERB is constantly looking for an opportunity to form a government without the PP-DB, for one main reason - it is dangerous to govern with the coalition. GERB's sincere reluctance to govern with the PP-DB is evident. At the first opportunity to form a government, GERB will do it without the PP-DB”, commented on the program “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA NEWS, political scientist Prof. Svetoslav Malinov.
In his words, the choice for GERB as prime minister should be a person who uses the political trust of the party. “Boyko Borisov said that it will either be him or his subordinate along party lines. BSP and ITN are abandoning their claims that they had during the election campaign. Delyan Peevski has officially given up - he neither wants to be sought after nor will he provide support. It remains to convince the people we associate with Dogan's MRF. I think that is exactly where GERB's efforts are currently being focused," Prof. Malinov also believes.
„It is much more dangerous to be in opposition with parties that have your profile and have similar political ideas. The problem is - will the BSP really lose the dignity that it has managed to maintain all these years. The same applies to „There is such a people”. This means accepting everything that Boyko Borisov wants. At the moment, it is good for the country to have a strong opposition in the face of the DB and PP,” the political scientist pointed out.
According to Prof. Malinov, the role of parties is to achieve certain goals, based on values and even ideology. “If they achieve these goals, even in opposition, then they are great politicians”, said the political scientist.
Prof. Malinov believes that GERB will very soon have to implement things that are unacceptable to voters. “On the other hand, it is natural that the PP-DB will support reasonable proposals and everything related to the eurozone. The expression “constructive opposition” was created precisely for the period ahead of the PP-DB”, the political scientist is convinced.
”It is useful for the PP to be in opposition. It is good for those in power, especially future ones, to go through opposition”, added Prof. Malinov.
According to him, there will be early elections, but it is better to have some stability before that.
