Bozhidar Bozhanov: I have concerns that the majority will not be united - 1

This will be a difficult coalition and I believe that the majority is aware of it. Bozhidar Bozhanov, a PP-DB MP, made this assessment to the Bulgarian National Radio after the National Assembly approved the proposals from GERB-SDS for a cabinet with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.

"I have concerns that the majority will not be united. Our experience with both the ITN and the BSP is that they generally support Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, but have reservations for the moment".
Bojanov did not clarify the words of Atanas Atanasov, according to whom there are Delyan Peevski's people in the regular cabinet.

"Mr. Atanasov's professional history is related to the security services and he may have more information than me. But this is not of such importance. The question is not to point out one person. It is systemic".

Most likely there are ministers who are connected to Mr. Peevski, Bojanov noted.

"We will see this with their actions and the appointments of deputy ministers".

Bojanov commented on Boyko Borisov's words that "the door to the PP-DB is wide open, but they only bark".

"We voted against this cabinet. I do not see what this open door means. Our role as an opposition is clear. But we will be constructive".
Our assessment was that the influences in the judicial system are a problem that also leads to the current political crisis, he pointed out the main thread for his party in the negotiations for a governing majority that were held but not completed.

"What we saw when the governing agreement was published is that all specific measures aimed at removing the influence of Peevski or anyone else in the judicial system were dropped".

Our negotiating position would have been strengthened if our colleagues from the PP were at the table with us, he admitted in the program "Predi visi".

"We have never hidden that we have differences with the PP. What has brought us together and keeps us in one coalition are the common macro goals - Bulgaria to be a state governed by the rule of law, part of the European democratic order. We also participated in these negotiations to see if we could achieve them".
