The quality of this parliament is the worst in Bulgaria's democratic history since 1990. Thus, Mehmed Dikme, who has been part of the political landscape in Bulgaria for more than three decades, commented to BNT on the case that formed around the parliamentary group of "Morals, Unity, Honor".
He congratulated the Speaker of the Parliament Natalia Kiselova for resisting the pressure. At the same time, he stressed that MECH deserve and should have a parliamentary group with its own representation in parliament.
"There are many laws that are not moral, but they are laws and must be respected", he noted.
Mehmed Dikme believes it is imperative to make changes to the electoral legislation, as well as to implement more serious control. He pointed out that the most important thing in the current situation is for at least 50-60% of Bulgarians to come out to vote. In this way, the Bulgarian parliament will in fact be an institution that represents the will of Bulgarian citizens. According to Dikme, otherwise we will remain in the same reality in which political parties and oligarchic circles determine who the members of parliament are.
"With higher voter turnout, there will be more valuable and quality members of parliament", the politician is convinced.
According to him, Boyko Borisov would have brought down the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov himself.
"Two things brought this majority together: the budget and the eurozone", he recalled. And he added: "Boyko Borisov is a flexible, experienced and smart politician who will give up this government at some point. It will exist until the moment Borisov decides".
Dikme is also of the opinion that Bulgaria needs a unified MRF.
