The Mayor of Petrich Dimitar Brchkov categorically denied that there was any abuse of European funds in the implementation of the project for the Historical Museum in the city, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
It started nearly 10 years ago in partnership with Greece under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program.
The Mayor of Petrich specified that the Municipality is starting to collect documents and evidence in its defense:
"I am categorical that there is no abuse of European funds. Here there is also administration of a process with European documents. Let's get acquainted in detail.
What the Prosecutor's Office emphasizes is that we are violating the agreement we have with the Municipality of Serres as our partner. We are starting to gather evidence to present in our defense, as well as witnesses.
