„We don't know if it was a political meeting, they might have talked about football. In his capacity as a political force, is he a politician, is he a special envoy of his father? He came for a completely different context. There is no information about this meeting and that's how it should be.“
This is how Lyuben Dilov- son commented on the bTV airing of the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and GERB-SDS leader Boyko Borisov last weekend.
„Regarding the energy sector, I want to say that the American side is obviously ambitious through Bulgaria to present its own product, which is not available in Europe – American reactor and this is a big game. Without a doubt, this forum is something important and interesting and puts Bulgaria in a prominent place on a curious map“, he added and admitted that it is possible that the energy sector was a topic of conversation.
He said that Boyko Borisov is not a politician, but a statesman and compared him to the Bulgarian politician and revolutionary Stefan Stambolov.
“He constructs his policy in the same way, deftly maneuvering with the Eastern and Western worlds and all the dangers, he does it in a direct and understandable way and generates huge polemics“, explained Dilov.
He commented on the words of President Rumen Radev that “there is no 100 days of the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet, but a new beginning of the Borisov model“ and that “instead of the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet we have a government of Peevski and Borisov“.
“I think that the president is unnecessarily politicizing the situation, and it doesn't suit him at all. If I want to return the favor, I will say that the greatest merit of the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet is that there is no Radev government, because for 4 years we were in an unmanned flight even though we have a pilot for president. If the cabinet is doing anything in these 100 days, it is trying to collect the pieces of the scattered state sense during these years“, commented Lyuben Dilov-sin.
According to him, the rift in the DPS affects politics, but it has nothing to do with the daily tasks that the cabinet has to solve and the support for it.
“The simple question is, well, this government falls, we go to elections and what will happen, what do you propose? The most striking example is the PP-DB. You want Peevski not to be in power, so why didn't you come in? How many times have we invited you and made all sorts of concessions? We don't allow ourselves to divide support by party. We simply thank you for the fact that some people are more or less obsessed with the sense of state,“ he said.
Asked if he is worried about the fact that Delyan Peevski has been sanctioned under the “Magnitsky“ law, Dilov replied:
“It may or may not bother me - that's a fact. First of all, “Magnitsky“ does not have any legal consequences in any European country. These are financial sanctions. Does a person who is sanctioned under “Magnitsky“ lose his civil rights? The “Magnitsky“ case does not arise for our judicial system. Apparently, Mr. Peevski is a very big irritant for a part of the political class and I explain it with a very simple situation - they currently cannot define another sufficiently important topic and have taken up this one. And the funniest thing is that the most vocal on this topic worked very well with Mr. Peevski in a previous period,“ he said.
