The president will initiate a referendum on the adoption of the euro. This is his legal right under the Constitution. And now I will tell you what my opinion is.

My colleagues and I initiated a referendum back when we were a television show. Three and a half million Bulgarians participated in it. Because the then political class swept this referendum under the carpet, now we exist as a political party.
Therefore, even now, in the current government in which we participate, our condition is that the rules by which referendums are held be changed and simplified. That is, I am an absolute supporter and support the holding of referendums in which the citizens of Bulgaria are asked.
I support this with all my heart. I will just remind you that for the holding of a referendum on the adoption of the euro, initiated by Vazrazhdane, we did everything in our power to make this referendum happen. So, from everything I have said so far, you understand that we at ITN support the President's idea of asking the citizens. I want to be clear.
I am for Bulgaria to adopt the euro and enter the eurozone, but first I am a Bulgarian and then I am a European, and in such a referendum I will say publicly and loudly what my opinion is, but what will happen will be decided by the people, the Bulgarian citizens, because this is their right and such is direct democracy. And politicians, since they are derivatives of the Bulgarian people, must agree with what the sovereign wants.
Therefore, I will add the following - we are part of the ruling majority in order to solve the problems of the state, and not to go against our principles.
As participants in the government, we will support our partners for everything that is useful for the state and everything that we have agreed on in the document for joint governance. And when there is an opportunity for the sovereign to be asked, we will support this opportunity.
