“We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria“ submitted to the National Assembly a draft Declaration for the completion of the full integration of the Republic of Bulgaria into the European Union by joining the eurozone on January 1, 2026, the coalition announced.
The submitters insist that the parliament discuss and vote on the declaration as soon as possible. According to the PP-DB, the adoption of the declaration will reaffirm Bulgaria's commitment to full membership in the eurozone upon fulfillment of the criteria under Article 140 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, will reaffirm all decisions of the National Assembly to introduce the euro as the official currency, as well as declare a firm determination for the country's accession to the eurozone from January 1, 2026, after a positive assessment by the European Commission and the European Central Bank on June 4, 2025, and categorically oppose all attempts to replace one of the country's strategic priorities - its full integration into the European Union - through actions that contradict the Constitution and European Union law.
