"Despite the President's attempts to divert the country from achieving its strategic goal - membership in the eurozone, the government and I, as Finance Minister, continue our active work so that Bulgaria can take its rightful place in the eurozone", Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said in Brussels.
According to her, within all regular monthly meetings, we constantly discuss Bulgaria's progress in preparing the country for adopting the euro.
"Yesterday I presented the latest information in relation to the work we have done in this direction over the past month, as well as the latest developments on the topic in our country - I informed the European institutions that Bulgaria's membership in the eurozone from January 1, 2026 remains a key priority for us," added Temenuzhka Petkova.
According to her, this act will enable Bulgaria to maintain its economic and financial stability.
