Three decades ago, the UDF led Bulgaria towards a democratic Europe, and therefore we now call on all citizens who understand that our full membership in the EU will be a fact after our admission to the eurozone, to give strong support for the euro throughout the country.
This is stated in the party's position sent to the media, the UDF reported.
A country's membership in a large and strong community brings security, stability and development. In the field of defense, such a community is NATO, the shared values of democracy and freedom are in the European Union, and in the field of finance, it is the eurozone. Our admission there will only bring benefits to the people, to an increase in income and
investments and will exclude the possibility of savings being frozen, as happened in 1996, when 17 banks went bankrupt, the Union of Democratic Forces states.
“Let us show that in Bulgaria those of us who want to live in a normal European state are more than the Kremlin's service personnel and the Bulgarian citizens misled by it, frightened by the furious propaganda and lies of the anti-European forces“, the position also states.
In the remaining days until the convergence report on June 4, let everyone in their own way, without succumbing to provocations from the opponents of the euro, show their European face and readiness to enter the club of rich European countries, the UDF also states in its position.
Earlier today, the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party came out with a position on the admission of the euro, in which they state that the participation of "BSP-United Left" in the government will be a guarantor of protecting the well-being of the people.
