The salaries of doctors are not humiliating, but cynical as an absolute figure in leva. These young people are absolutely right. This was stated by Dr. Nikolay Brunzalov, chairman of the Bulgarian Medical Union, on BNT.
The Bulgarian state behaves as if Bulgaria is overflowing with personnel, doctors, and nurses. Over 50% of them will not practice in Bulgaria. With these figures showing - this is the earnings that a doctor should receive per day, Brunzalov added.

There is not enough money for healthcare in Bulgaria. It must be found. The percentage of GDP for healthcare must be increased.
According to him, one of the measures that can be taken is to increase the health insurance contribution. "The Bulgarian Medical Association does not want the health insurance contribution to become 12% overnight. We are ready for this to happen gradually", he stressed.
