I don't think anything dramatic is changing. What is happening is relatively clear - we have a process in which, with power pressure and pressure from a business line, a number of APS representatives continued the process of transitioning from the old to the new DPS, to "New Beginning", which is mainly related to Peevski's power and financial base. This was said in the program "The Day Live" on Nova News by political scientist Ognyan Minchev on the occasion of the morning decision of Dzhevdet Chakarov to resign as chairman of Dogan's party after a meeting with the leader of "DPS - New Beginning" Delyan Peevski.
On the other hand, the old MRF, although it does not have even a part of the power base that Peevski has in this confrontation, has an important resource that will lead to the survival of this party - the support of a significant part of the voters of the old MRF, associated with the Turkish communities, who would not switch to Peevski's new MRF. Therefore, we will observe this drama with the transition of one figure or another, but both formations will retain their autonomy, said Minchev.
I do not know the motives for Chakarov leaving the MRF, but the suspicions that there is some personal deal with Peevski are quite reasonable, the political analyst pointed out.
The scandalous way of transitioning from one MRF to the other shows the true nature of the MRF, which began as a party of ethnic communities, but turned into an oligarchic corporation and a spearhead that has captured a significant part of public institutions in Bulgaria, said Ognyan Minchev.
