The Supreme Court of Cassation has terminated the case for changes in the leadership of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms

The Supreme Court of Cassation has terminated the case for changes in the leadership of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms  - 1

Due to the refusal of the filed cassation appeal, the Supreme Court of Cassation has terminated the proceedings in the case initiated against decisions of the Sofia City Court on an application for entry of changes in the Register of Political Parties in the account of "Movement for Rights and Freedoms".

With Ruling No. 1609/28.05.2025, issued in commercial case No. 739/2025, a three-member panel of the Supreme Court of Cassation (SCC) revokes the ruling from an open session on 27.05.2025. to proceed with the case on the merits and terminates the proceedings in the case.

The ruling is subject to appeal within one week of the notification with a private appeal before another panel of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

The case was initiated upon an appeal by the political party "Movement for Rights and Freedoms", represented by the chairman Dzhevdet Ch., against decisions of 04.02.2025 and 13.03.2025 under file no. 2574/1990 of the Sofia City Court for refusal to enter changes in the Register of Political Parties under the party's party.

In the reasons for the ruling, the judicial panel of the Supreme Court of Cassation states that with a request of 28.05.2025, Dzhevdet Ch. as chairman of the political party "Movement for Rights and Freedoms" and the applicant in the application of 22.10.2024 for entry of changes in the party's account has stated that he completely abandons the filed cassation appeal and requests that the proceedings in the case be terminated.

In view of the statement made and on the basis of Art. 264 of the Code of Civil Procedure, the Supreme Court of Cassation terminates the proceedings.
