The Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov will make an official inspection of the progress of the accelerated construction of the Vertical Gas Corridor - one of the strategic initiatives in the sector with international participation. This was announced by the press center of the energy ministry. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov has also been invited to the inspection.
The event, which is expected to include government representatives, ministers and diplomats from the other countries involved in the project - Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova, will take place today at 11:30 a.m. in the area of the village of Mikrevo, Strumyani Municipality.
The ministry added that the implementation of the large-scale facility will guarantee the security and continuity of energy supplies and access to diversified sources of natural gas for our country and Southeast Europe. Bulgaria was the first to start concrete actions to increase the capacity of its gas transmission network within the framework of the project, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
The Vertical Gas Corridor is a joint initiative of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Moldova and Slovakia. Its goal is to improve security and ensure diversification of sources and routes for gas transmission.
