Denkov announced when the PP-DB will submit a vote of no confidence in the government - 1

The vote of no confidence in the government will be submitted after the date for Bulgaria's admission to the eurozone is specified. So we will wait for the next few steps and the moment we receive the date - hopefully January 1, 2026, then we will submit it. This is what Nikolay Denkov, co-chair of the parliamentary group – "Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" and former Prime Minister, commented to journalists. And he explained that the goal is not to hinder the process of our admission to the eurozone.

According to him, the date for membership in the eurozone is expected to be announced either at the end of June or in the first days of July, and then the vote will be submitted. Several options for topics were discussed. There is still a month, I am sure that there will be new, more current topics, then we will decide which is the most important, explained Denkov. According to him, the government is not coping in several areas - for example, the problem of medical specialists is not being solved. Separately, there are stories in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which seem extremely worrying - covering up a crime, an umbrella, in which we see a connection with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, explained the former prime minister.

When it comes to fighting corruption, everyone must stand up and say whether they accept corruption or will fight it, so on this topic we are seeking assistance from everyone who is ready to support it, indicated Denkov when asked from which political forces they will seek support in submitting the vote of no confidence. He stressed that they will continue to discuss the vote with their coalition partners from "Democratic Bulgaria", there were nuances on the issue between them.

About the protest planned for tomorrow – on the day of the extraordinary convergence report on Bulgaria, in front of the National Assembly and whether there are concerns that this may affect the report, he pointed out that everyone has the right to protest, the point is to protest peacefully while respecting the laws. I do not expect there to be a change in the position, because tomorrow what should come out is an objective independent assessment of whether Bulgaria meets certain criteria that are described in the treaties that we signed with the EU in 2007, commented Nikolay Denkov. He expects this assessment to take into account that Bulgaria meets all the criteria. From there, several political decisions follow, which must be made by the end of June, beginning of July. There is a very large majority in the National Assembly – 171 MPs, more than two-thirds, signed the decision that supports the government's actions to enter our country into the eurozone, reminded the co-chair of the PP-DB parliamentary group.

It is important to have a proper process that will ultimately produce the best candidate to win the elections and become president, we are not discussing names now, Nikolay Denkov replied when asked if they already have a candidate for head of state.
