Almost 73% of employees in Bulgaria work in sectors where in the first quarter of this year the average salaries are lower than the national average. It reached 2,443 leva at the end of March, BNR reported.
Data from the Ministry of Social Affairs' information bulletin on the standard of living show that in the public sector, salaries are on average 100 leva lower than those in the private sector.
The data show that in the "Hotel and restaurant" sector The average salary at the end of March was 1,503 leva, marking a growth of nearly 11% on an annual basis, the employed are 4.4% of the employed in the country.
In "Agriculture, forestry and fisheries" the average salary was 1,584 leva, and in "Water supply, sewage services and waste management" the average salary was 1,852 leva and increased by 14% per year.
In "Construction" the average salary was 2,000 leva, the growth is over 17% compared to the same quarter last year, the employed there are nearly 6% of all. The same percentage also works in "Transport", where the average salary reaches nearly 2,100 leva.
Nearly 17% of the employed work in "Trade", a sector in which the average salary is 2,118 leva.
In the economic activity "Education", the average salary reached 2,389 leva at the end of March, growing by nearly 8% per year, and those employed there are 7.5% of the employed.
In "Human health and social activities" the salary is 2,460 or exceeds the national average by just over 17 leva.
In six regions of the country, the average salaries are between 60 and 70 percent of the national average, with the lowest in Haskovo – 1635 leva, this is half the average salary in Sofia, where the highest average salary is 3386 leva.
