Today or tomorrow at the latest, it will become clear what substances the elderly people taken out of the "houses of horrors" in the village of Yagoda were drugged with, said at a briefing on "The Day Begins" on BNT, the regional prosecutor of Stara Zagora, Tanya Dimitrova.

She pointed out that the investigation has sufficient evidence of involvement in the crime of the detained 62 – year-old man, who according to investigators is a "shadow owner" of the home for the elderly in the Stara Zagora village.

In the case, 6 people have been charged, and if found guilty, they face prison sentences of 3 to 12 years.

"The evidence collected shows that the conceptual design for everything that happened, such as the change of ownership and the organization of work at the sites, belongs to the 62-year-old man. There is evidence that the elderly were drugged. Blood and urine samples were taken from the 8 people admitted to the hospital in Stara Zagora. They were sent for tests and a toxicochemical examination at the Military Medical Academy. The results of the examination will be ready later today or tomorrow. The patients did not have access to medication - they took whatever was given to them," said Tanya Dimitrova.

According to her, there was both physical and psychological violence against the elderly - their free movement was restricted. Personal documents have been seized and it will be determined whether there has been any misuse of their personal data.
