We are "for" adopting the euro in Bulgaria, entering the eurozone, but when we are ready. This will most likely be possible in 3-4-5 years, because Bulgaria first needs economic stabilization. This was said in the studio of "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" by Kiril Veselinski, chairman of the MECH parliamentary group in parliament.
"First, the most vulnerable social segment in Bulgarian society - these are the elderly, pensioners, mothers with children, people working poor in Bulgaria, because in Bulgaria there is a huge majority of poor people who barely make ends meet. These are about 2 million people who are barely feeding their families and these people must be prepared purely economically so as not to feel the blow, the inflationary pressure from the adoption of the euro and undoubtedly the changes that are coming to the Bulgarian economy", Veselinski pointed out.
According to his words, the position of President Rumen Radev is like that of MECH.
"I am convinced that the majority of Bulgarian citizens do not want the entry of the euro at this stage. This is the position of the MECH political party. We are not "for" Bulgaria's exit from the European Union and NATO. For one main reason. We do not have an army, first of all, if we leave NATO. If they decide, our southeastern neighbors will take over us in two hours. We must tell the truth and let people know what is happening. If we leave the European Union, we will have no production. The Jean-Vidéo winter in 1997 will seem like a spring song to us. We are not ready. Therefore, our position is that Bulgaria is not ready at the moment to adopt the euro. There are objective factors for this. Inflation, no matter what we talk about with all the NSI's stochastics and the government's claims that we are ready and that the deficit is below 3%, is not so. Inflation is huge. After the war in Ukraine it is 50-60-70%. There must be a referendum"
Veselinsky denied the claims that MECH is a pro-Russian party.
"MECH clearly proves with every action that it is not a pro-Kremlin opposition. That it has nothing to do with the claims of various national media spokesmen, not only those who lump us together, in slang, with "Vazrazhdane". And "Velichy". MECH was born and is the offspring of the immune system of Bulgarian society to the betrayals of Slavi Trifonov - ITN and PP-DB. Because the main culprits for what is happening right now are precisely PP-DB and ITN. They have become murderers. Murderers of the hope of Bulgarian citizens that there can be a government and power without Boyko Borisov and Peevski. They legitimized Boyko Borisov, returned him to power on a white horse, made every effort to launder him and did it successfully through the government in the 49th National Assembly, in which PP-DB, together with MRF, then led by Peevski behind the scenes, and Boyko Borisov made this disgusting assembly, which ultimately led PP-DB to this unenviable position, to be currently cornered, to be divided, because they are two different factions."
