Vanya Grigorova has left the BSP group in the Sofia Municipal Council because of GERB's external influence on the left. This was explained in the studio of “Face to Face“ on bTV by the now independent municipal councilor. Last week, she informed the leader of the city's centenary party, Ivan Takov, in a letter that their paths were parting ways.
As reasons, she then pointed out disagreement with their positions on socially important topics.
“Something else is influencing our group in terms of decisions. Mr. Bratoev was the last straw. It is impossible for Mr. Takov to not give me an argument for a month and a half why, with the tacit consent of the group, Prof. Bratoev is not returning to where he belongs - as executive director of the "Metropolitan", said Grigorova.
According to her, the answer was that Stoyan Bratoev is an adult and it is time for him to go. “This is not an argument for me. The fact that someone is younger, the fact that this someone has rougher methods, does not make him a better manager of such a complex system as the metro“, she added.
According to her, it is said that Bratoev was removed from his post because of the “obstinacy of GERB“. “He was their leading light in a number of elections and thanks to him they won the local elections in Sofia. Honestly, I cannot understand. I explain it to myself that now, during this period, new larger European tranches are coming to “Metropolitan“ for the construction of the metro and now is the moment when larger public procurements can be made“, she specified.
When asked who influences the BSP from the outside, Grigorova said: “The visible answer is the partners from GERB. It was clear how, without the lack of any arguments, Mr. Takov did not want to irritate GERB and did not do what was necessary to return Prof. Bratoev, even after the threat that he would lose me, it was clear to him“.
Grigorova said that there is a kind of coalition between the BSP and GERB in the municipal council: “I do not understand why GERB is forcing the BSP to make such heavy compromises that depersonalize it. This is approaching humiliation. There is no way I can be part of this humiliation that the BSP is currently experiencing“.
