The fire that broke out in the area of the airport and salt pans this afternoon in Burgas has been localized, BNT reported.
The fire broke out shortly before 3:00 p.m. and covered an area of about 200 acres of tall grass.
Four fire trucks were sent to the scene, which spent several hours extinguishing the flames.
The hot weather combined with the strong wind made the work of firefighters difficult.
The flames were located in the immediate vicinity of several buildings, with the fire covering one of them, which is uninhabited.
At the moment, there is no danger to the airport, nor is there any danger of the fire spreading.
A large fire has broken out in the interior of the area near the village of Zvezdelina, near the "Studen Kladenets" dam, BNR Kardzhali reported, quoted by news.bg. The fire has covered an area of at least 500 acres, with flames being seen in dozens places, BTA reported.
"Initially it looked like burning dry grass, but the fire quickly grew and moved towards the dense forest", a radio listener said. According to him, the village is not directly threatened, since the terrain around it has already burned in previous fires, but the flames are moving towards hard-to-reach forested areas.
Three fire trucks have arrived at the scene. It is not yet clear whether volunteers are involved in the extinguishing. A complicating factor in controlling the element is the variable wind, which blows in different directions and carries the fire to new areas. The area is covered in thick smoke, and according to eyewitnesses, the fire continues to burn.
