Today, the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets made a weekly overview of the movement of wholesale prices for basic food products, fruits and vegetables.

“As a main characteristic, the dynamics are a normal market with some movements and fluctuations, which are within the norm and according to the weather, of course. Since the rainy period, we started the briefings on May 20, and precisely because there was a lot of unnecessary talk about how the market is moving - and fortunately for us, it is moving perfectly“, he said.
And he explained that the factors that determine the price of products are entirely economic.
And he gave an example with tomatoes – for which he said that the average wholesale price is 2.40 leva, and for consumers - from 3.50 to 4.00 leva.
“Nobody influences the market level, this is absolutely natural market behavior“, Ivanov was categorical.
“In principle, this is the year of expensive fruits, due to climatic conditions. The situation with cherries was very tragic, with apricots - better, and thanks to nearby countries, which we benefit from“, he further specified.
