Burudzhieva: PP-DB voters are in a real echo chamber - 1

It is not very clear whether this government will serve a full term and whether there will be more dramatic shifts in electoral attitudes as a result of both external factors - the dynamic international situation, and internal ones - how the government will manage to cope with preserving the basic parameters of our lives. This position was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Tatyana Burudzhieva.

"There is a purely symbolic difference - after January 1, the number that will reflect our income will be half as small. This has a symbolic effect, especially when crossing certain boundaries - you have an income of 1,000 leva, now it will be 500 euros. I am talking about the purely symbolic feeling. The second is what we will be able to buy with this money."

Other factors that could lead to early elections depend on the governing coalition itself. If the parties in it decide that there is a convenient situation, they could move to early elections – "in the presidential elections: 2 in 1 or in very negative trends, before they become even more negative", she believes.

According to her, the PP is in the third phase of the action to retain its voters. Their voters still believe that it is enough to have good intentions, and now we are observing the apotheosis of heroization – first through Kiril Petkov, and then – through the mayor of Varna.

"Currently, the voters of the PP-DB are in a real echo chamber. In real elections, this frozen picture can turn out to be a very complex movement."

The fight against corruption is a topic that still inspires trust and makes people trust one or the other. What is more interesting is what type of person should lead this fight - whether it should be a strong hand and a strong leader, or whether citizens are inclined to trust parties with a stronger collective beginning, noted Assoc. Prof. Burudzhieva.

People are still looking for some type of savior, but new parties of this type have an increasingly smaller result, she added.

We are witnessing the political death of yet another Bulgarian party, she pointed out about the APS result in the latest sociological surveys.
