Martin Dimitrov: In this form, the Anti-Corruption Commission is useless. It is used, it participates in many ugly scenes

There is no principle. There is no equality before the law. There are no actions that would lead to seeking justice. And there is an attack on certain individuals from the opposition. Corruption is basically part of the government, commented the PP-DB MP

Martin Dimitrov: In this form, the Anti-Corruption Commission is useless. It is used, it participates in many ugly scenes - 1

The protests of "Justice for Everyone" this week from the Anti-Corruption Commission boasted against the continuation of Borislav Sarafov as the acting Prosecutor General. Today, however, it became clear that next week the parliament will vote on the closure of the Anti-Corruption Commission - the topic was proposed yesterday morning by the leader of "DPS - New Beginning" Delyan Peevski was supported by DSB Chairman Atanas Atanasov in the show "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov".

Is a new stage of opposition unification beginning?

In this form, the Anti-Corruption Commission is useless. This was stated in "Speak Now" on BNT by PP-DB MP – Martin Dimitrov.

When asked whether the coalition would support the closure of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Dimitrov replied:

"Such a position was expressed by Mr. Atanasov and by "Democratic Bulgaria". In this form, this commission is useless. In the sense that it is used, you see, it participates in many ugly scenes. There is no principle. There is no equality before the law. There are no actions that would lead to seeking justice. And there is an attack on certain individuals from the opposition. Corruption is basically part of the government. There is grand corruption in every government. And the fact that give me an example of people from the government who distribute billions, who are currently being prosecuted by this commission. And it deals with the opposition, which shows that there is a systemic problem. Because, as I told you, grand corruption is always part of the government."

The People's Representative did not directly respond to the criticisms of whether billions will be lost under the Recovery and Resilience Plan if the Anti-Corruption Commission is closed.

"This issue must be analyzed. You see that we are succeeding and Bulgaria is succeeding in renegotiating some elements of this plan. So this is a matter of analysis that must be done. Let's not speculate in this way. The issue that we all need to see is this - we cannot allow there to be commissions that act selectively and there is no equality under the law in Bulgaria. Because that was never the idea. We want everyone to bear the consequences and responsibility for their actions. But not to have such selectivity that leads to grotesque scenes in front of the entire society. Otherwise, the money under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, of course, must be invested in the Bulgarian economy. And of course, a way must be found for this to happen, regardless of other circumstances."
