After an argument with the woman he was living with, a 49-year-old man started a fire in the Pernik neighborhood of “Rudničar“ by lighting a blanket and throwing it on flammable objects. The fire destroyed five buildings suitable for living.
Three fire brigade teams responded to the call. Upon their arrival, the shacks were almost completely destroyed. Neighboring houses were saved from the fire.
While trying to escape the flames, the person who started the fire was slightly injured. After receiving medical attention, he will be detained for up to 24 hours.
