Pleven is on a water regime during the day as well. Since yesterday.

Along with the night shutdown, people there are now without water for 10 hours a day. The measure is indefinite and is due to the critically low amounts of water supply.

The regime during the day is from 13:00 to 16:30, and at night - between 23:00 and 5:00 in the morning.

The residents of the city insist that the Water Supply and Sewerage Department and the municipality urgently find a solution to the water supply problems. They are protesting in front of the municipality.

Locals say that until 2021 the situation was bearable, with the regime starting much later - in September, October. Now, according to them, things are getting out of control - the city is dirty, there is no water at all on the high floors of the blocks. People want quick and adequate measures. They say they are tired of promises.

"The imposition of the shutdown every other day was necessary for the simple reason that it drastically reduces what enters Pleven as water. The amount we need is about 800 liters per second, which is about 60,000 cubic meters of water, 60-65,000 cubic meters of water. Currently, what is entering from all water supply groups is about 670, which means about 130 liters of shortage, which is impossible to cover only with evening pressure reduction. This permanent drought... We will simply check the amount that is entering every day and make a decision," says Kliment Todorov – manager of Pleven Water and Sewerage.

He adds that work is being done in several directions - one of them is zoning and reducing the pressure in the network and, accordingly, placing the so-called booster pumps - hydrophore systems, which increase the pressure locally at high critical points.

"I think we have achieved a fairly large success there - we have reduced the amount of water consumed by Pleven by about 100 liters, but we simply do not have enough water at the moment to irrigate the wells of Dolna Mitropolia, which is from the "Dolni Dabnik" or "Milin Kladenets" dam, said Todorov.

However, the locals are dissatisfied that new water wells are not being sought.
