Does the Russian Federation illegally own property in our country - this is what parties in the National Assembly are asking, bTV reports.
It turns out that Moscow requested to acquire the property by statute of limitations, but was denied.
"Democratic Bulgaria" claims that Russia illegally uses property on the shore of the "Iskar" dam, which threatens our national security.
The property is managed by the Russian embassy illegally and on the condition that Bulgaria was declared an enemy state by Russia - the very circumstance is a threat to national security, pointed out Atanas Atanasov from the State Security Service.
According to him, the simplest solution is for the government and the regional governor to take possession of the property.
Local fishermen indicate that the property is often used by Russians who stay there and go fishing.
The bungalow of the Russian Federation is located meters from the shore of the "Iskar" dam, and there is also a Russian flag.
Regional governor Stefan Arsov specified that the story begins a long time ago. Moscow used the land and the building, and then asked to acquire them.
"In 2009, the Russian embassy asked to acquire the property by statute of limitations. The Foreign Ministry refused because foreign countries cannot acquire in this way," he explained.
There are three ways to acquire property from a foreign country - an agreement, a law or an act of the Council of Ministers, but not by statute of limitations. Another problem is that no one knows whose land the land in question is - state, municipal or even private, for which there have been restitution claims.
The Russian embassy has not commented on the topic so far.
